Babies at the Farm !!!!

Every winter in the hum drum of the cold and wet there is one highlight...........BABIES !!!

Goats and sheep usually have their babies January through March.

This year we had a tragic birth.....a new goat died in birth.

But we recently had 2 lambs and a goat !!!

The sadness of the animals we loose serves as a reminder of how precious life is for everyone and that we need to hold our love ones closer.

Celebrate with us our new babies...................no names yet !!!

Is it HOT Enough For Ya ???

Yes we get asked it all the time.  Do they really think we will say "no at 100 degrees I would love a little hotter !!! "
After working outside for so long you do get "used" to the heat...not that you like it.  But it becomes tolerable.  When you work inside all day if you come out into 100 degrees it is not tolerable.

In the same sense last week I had to spend the day in an air conditioned building.........it was TOO COLD!!!

So lets all pray for a good few weeks of 80 degrees !!!!

The Drive to the City

Each week we pack up our wonderful pickings and drive it to the city.  We have met many wonderful people and even made lots of friends.  The drive to get there is never uneventful.
From last years tire blow out on Rt 676 to the reconstruction in China Town it has been very eventful, but this year the things we have seen on the Schuykill Expressway have been the most memorable.
Excluding all the dangers....like motorcycles flying up the shoulder at high rates of speed with unhelmeted drivers,  phone talkers and texters, and the ever loving make up artists.

A few weeks ago Nancy and Jess took a picture of a truck towing a trailer with a small pool.

But today while we were in stand still traffic with a small SUV next to us we saw it all ..........everyone in the vehicle had on a mask.  At first we were a little afraid but then realizing we were right at the on ramp from the zoo our hearts settled to realize that a "cheetah" was driving, a "panda" was front seat passenger and what we think was a "tiger" was in the back seat.  Go figure !!!!
